    • I wouldn't trust mainstream media or the consensus full stop Tom. It's interesting how people presume that if the vast majority of even so called experts in a field believe something then it must always be true. Why would that be the case? There are far too many nuances involved in things in life that we can fail to take in to account to be sure about many things we think we should be.

  • I will trust a scientifically trained guy saying "I just don't _know"_ and explaining his controversial findings *any day of the week.* The problem with people you cannot trust are the ones claiming to be in possession of the absolute and morally binding truth, preferrably handed down to them in a golden book from their supreme leader being which they found in their own back yard. Great Scott! (I always wanted to say this on your channel..!) Two thumbs up and keep up the good work!

  • There's a reason why 'american's are so stupid' or 'brits are so stupid' videos exist. It doesn't matter where the population is, ANY population you can walk through asking a few dozen people the same question and make a 20 minute video of all the 'obviously' stupid answers. Random people have never been a good source for information when taken as a whole.

Still, I am a youtuber who, among other things, strives to educate people, so I am going to try to improve on citations and ensure I get accurate information."

  • This is why I do not trust government - ever! Same with the politics of business. I have full confidence IF you chose to dig in deep, you could find at least the facsimile of the truth., but I also realize what I think you were alluding to, that some people are more suited to investigative journalism than others - just like not everyone makes a great detective. It takes a certain mindset and extreme determination with guts of steel.

  • There are two types of people out there: those that admit their mistakes and those that try to hide them. Those that hide their mistakes are not worthy of trust, they are folk who would try and bury a disaster until it's too late to prevent. Those that admit their mistakes are worthy of not only trust but respect, displaying not only honesty but earnestness, they are folk who would admit when something is wrong, and would thus be willing to accept and offer aid in solving the resulting issue. People who don't make mistakes don't exist.
